A NEW Starman and Plastic Man Starring In Adventure Comics

    Short summary describing this issue.

Carlton Canary last edited by AirDave on 02/01/21 06:45PM View full history

It's the first appearance of Prince Gavyn, a.k.a. Starman! Plus, Plastic Man and Woozy Winks are asked to make sure the snitch Carlton Canary gets to police custody safely.

Adventure Comics was cleaning house and swapping some of its stars. Out were the adventures of Deadman, Aquaman, the Flash and the Justice Society, and in were two new features, the first of which restarted the tongue-in-cheek adventures of Plastic Man, written by Len Wein and drawn by Joe Staton. The second debuted a new version of Starman by writer Paul Levitz and illustrator Steve Ditko. Despite bearing a familiar name to readers of DC's Golden Age comics, Starman was an entirely new creation and he proved a welcome addition to readers.

At the headquarters of the NBI, in the DIP offices, top men are reviewing Plas' latest assignment. The "stretchable sleuth" has been tasked with bringing in informant Carlton Canary (a.k.a. ...
