Adrienne applied for an open DC Comics color artist position and was trained by Jack Adler, DC's Production Supervisor. She began her comic book coloring career in 1987, and quickly became DC Comics' most popular interior colorist.

During the next two decades, Adrienne colored nearly 200 issues each of BATMAN and DETECTIVE COMICS, and also had long runs on BRAVE & THE BOLD, BATMAN & THE OUTSIDERS, SHADOW OF THE BAT and ROBIN. She also colored the BATMAN and WORLD'S GREATEST SUPERHEROES Sunday strips. Adrienne was also the original colorist for THE NEW TEEN TITANS (working with Marv Wolfman and George Perez), and colored more than a 150 issues of the hugely-popular series. She also had long runs on Mike Grell's WARLORD and SUPERMAN, and colored "I, Vampire" in HOUSE OF MYSTERY and Paul Gulacy's SLASH MARAUD miniseries.
