Batman ( 1 - 3 ) |
Created by Phineas T. Horton, Adam possessed enhanced strength, endurance and durability. He invented less sophisticated androids, some built for combat and some built to impersonate specific people. Edit
Adam was created in 1946 by the same man who built the Human Torch android. Unlike that first android though, Adam believed himself to be superior to humankind. He imprisoned his creator, Professor Horton, and built a lifelike duplicate of him to keep from arousing suspicion. Adam II proceeded to build himself an army of androids, intent on taking over the Earth. The Human Torch (Jim Hammond) and his side kick Toro came to visit the professor and quickly realized something was wrong. Adam-II revealed himself and offered an alliance to take over the world. The Torch and Toro refused which led to their capture by Adam-II. They were imprisoned inside a water tank but luckily The Patriot (Jeff Mace) rescued them. With the Torch's All-Winners Squad teammates alerted to the threat, Captain America (William Naslund, formerly the Spirit of '76, and Bucky (Fred Davis) encountered Adam-II. Naslund went to summon the Squad, but was crushed to death by one of Adam-II's androids. Finding Naslund's body, the Patriot became the new Captain America to rally the All-Winners Squad against Adam-II. Adam-II hijacked an automobile and attempted to run Mace down, but lost control of the car and was destroyed when the car crashed and exploded.
