The Good

This was exactly the sort of comic I needed to read this morning. I really love Bizarro (or I could say "Me hate Bizarro" but I'll fight the urge to do all this in Bizarro-speak). As we get ready to head into the two-month long Convergence series, Greg Pak and Aaron Kuder deliver a fantastic issue to tide us over until 41 is out.

All you need to know about this issue is Superman finds himself going through a portal to Bizarro World. Why? How? I really don't care. While I did enjoy the developments with Bizarro during FOREVER EVIL, it just wasn't what I wanted in Bizarro. This is a return to the Bizarro we all love or hate (I know, I said I'd stop). We get Superman facing Bizarro and the rest of the Bizarro JLA is there too. There was a time I actually said "Oh my gosh" in near disbelief, all the while a big smile was etched onto my face. Things get pretty nuts here. And that's a great thing.

Kuder's art and Wil Quintana's colors make this a visual treat. Kuder nails the look of Bizarro World and its citizens. I absolutely want more of this and cannot wait for the BIZARRO mini in June by Heath Corson and Gustavo Duarte.

The Bad

The only bad thing for me was the issue had to end. If you're looking for an absolutely serious Superman story, this might not be for you. It's not over the top zaniness. It does feel perfectly suited to be an ACTION COMICS issue.

The Verdict

Greg Pak and Aaron Kuder have given us a great and fun issue of ACTION COMICS. This is the sort of comic you should buy an extra copy or two to share with friends. With Superman somehow ending up on Bizarro World, we get a return of the classic Bizarro we all loved before the New 52. Pak delivers some wacky and fitting situations. Kuder's art and Wil Quintana's colors capture the feel of Bizarro World perfectly. I am definitely going to re-read this book. Buy this book. You'll love it. If you hate it, clearly you're from Bizarro World.

Me Hate this issue so very much!

Looking forward to this. I have only been treated to the "zany" Bizzaro in my sons Superman Family Adventure comics and I would catch myself laughing out loud when reading it to him.

Me hate this. Me will never buy it. Action Comic iz been bad lately.

This was such a fun issue. The only thing I didn't like was that they got rid of superman's beard, DC hates beards.

Seriously, can someone tell me vvhy Geoff Johns has such creative control over the entire DCU instead of someone brilliant like Greg Pak?

As someone who loves Lex Luthor, that relationship with Bizarro was great. I like both takes on he character, but yeah Pak would be my guy to replace Johns on JL.

This issue does look like fun though, can't wait to get it.

I didnt enjoy it. And whats worse is that I came away feeling like it was a wasted issue on a non canon story. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to read the other comics I got and hope those are good.

With the new looser continuity, I like to think that won't affect Pak's stuff. He did get to keep the beard while Johns got rid of it for months already.

Because Johns is commited to the DCU plus his name sells.

While Pak writes about 5 series for different companies. DC wouldn't allow their "architect" to work on another company.

Tell me about it. Especially when the supposed doomsday killing mist resulted in everything turning into bunnies and flowers

I honestly didn't see that coming. Everything was so zany and crazy it makes sense for it to feel rushed. But I do wish it had been longer :( I hope the Bizarro Shorts Mini Series is just as good.

@saint_wildcard: I have to agree with you there. The fact Bizarro purged himself of the DD virus so quickly was kinda shocking. Also, I was unaware that a Bizarro mini series was in the works.

Yup, but that's Bizarro for you. And yes, I hope that the art is an indication of things to come

I honestly thought that there was no way Pak could top this image alone... I was wrong. But I still think that with this series being 6 issues, we'll get a ton of crazy adventures

Me am HATE this issue! It am worst issue of New 52 Superman ever! It not portray imperfect way to do Bizarro World and am very, very, very bad! It am do injustice to Bizarro World and am give improper version of Bizarro that me am having too much of since New 52 end! Me small Bizarro not fan so it make me very sad to read this!

@g_man I totally agree. Such a fun issue. I decided to go away from my pull list and pick out 1-2 comics I don't usually get. I picked up this issue and I am glad I did. It was fun and confusing read(the opposite talk got me a couple of times). I am looking forward to reading more and the way he loses his beard was very funny but it will be missed.

finally the bizarro from Geoff Johns's Action Comics series back!! Love (or hate) this version so much!

Although the other one during Forever Evil is pretty good, too, I love this one even more
