A crossroads for the Man of Steel
Five years into the future, we find out a part of Futures End Superman's origin.
The Good
What I love most about Futures End is that the characters are living complex and different lives from their New 52 counterparts. I like learning about how the world has changed in Futures End and how the characters have complicated lives because of something in their past. So, with Superman being extremely mysterious in the Futures End main series, I am glad to learn a bit more about him in this one-shot issue.
I really enjoyed this story! The story had the spirit of Superman (I guess) wander around different areas on the Earth helping people, and testing them to see if they have true potential to aspire to greatness. There were three individuals (in this issue) that were part of Spirit Superman's mission. It was very interesting to see because Superman's powers were a part of Spirit Superman's mission. For example, one lady was given Superman's flight because she felt that the human society was always cruel and dragging her down. In the end, Superman would take the powers away and tell them to "Choose wisely" basically. It was really creative and it showed that the inspiration of Superman still lived on even though the actual Superman gave up. (For a good reason.)
