I HAVE BROUGHT MY BIGGEST COMBAT SPOON TO EAT YOUR TASTY BRAINS!! 2

The Good: The title of this review says it all. Grodd says one of the funniest yet awesome lines of all time. I will cherish this comic forever just for that alone. XD Sean Chen's guest art is similar enough that it's not a jarring difference from Woods' art. It's incredibly hard to convey the greatness of this but the whole plot is amazing. You can see the scale of Luthor's awesome planning ability and actually pick out all the little clues peppered about as it progressed. I was extremely impre...

    Holy mistaken Identity! 0

This was a great issue.  I really loved all the Gorilla Grodd stuff.  I really like Lex Luthor's quest for the rings of power.  It's really cool.  The art in this book is first rate.  I REALLY like the dialog in this issue, it smartly written and snappy.  There aren't really any flat or throw away panels.  I REALLY want to read the next issue with Death in it.  I think it will probably be either the best or worst issue yet.  Based on this issue, I would REALLY like to see Grodd in some other b...

Who is smarter, Lex or Grodd? 0

There's a reason for me for reading Action Comics. One of the reasons was that Death from Sandman was going to make an appearance. The main reason is that I heard that Chloe Sullivan was making a Mainstream DC appearance finally in the Jimmy Olsen's story. However, that's not to say that the main comic with Lex Luthor isn't bad. Pros: Before I get to the Jimmy Olsen comic, I have to comment on the Black Ring Part IV first. Lex Luthor is called a genius for a reason. There are other possible way...

    Kneel Before Grodd 0

This is a very fun issue to read. As other reviewers have pointed out, the Gorilla Grodd/ Luthor battle of wits is filled with great writing and a gonzo sense of humor, that's an absolute pleasure. It's got a weird timeless/vintage style to it that's all it's own even in the little details like the font on the cover. This issue of course leads into the widely publicized presence of Neil Gaiman's Death in Action Comics. That alone was worth the price for a self-proclaimed Sandman-holic like mysel...

I waited how many years for her for that? REALLY? 2

I'll admit, I didn't read this whole arc.  I only purchased this issue because it leads into the next issue which features DEATH of the Endless and wanted to read it before #894 came out. Jumping in now was easy enough.  If you know the basics of the DCU you would be fine reading this comic.  If you are a Neil Gaiman Sandman fan wanting to see what the hype is about, this maybe a little advanced.  Smallville doesn't doesn't cover Gorilla Grodd l...

Monkey with Giant Spoon = Awesomesauce 0

Another one of my monthly titles I shall review is Action Comics. This Cornell run with Luthor and his quest for power more than makes up for the atrocity that was Nightwing and Flamebird. Cornell deftly balances action, humour and spotlighting what makes Lex Luthor the formidable villain he is today brilliantly. Along with my latest addition to my monthly read, Green Lantern, this continues to be a brilliant read. Will this issue be no exception?   Synopsis   Lex Luthor and his team venture int...
