Grant Morrison does a all out job with all out warfare and it the city depends on Superman against a alien invasion that could destroy or devastate the world. Well, I like start off by saying it’s well written. And Grant Morrison does have a spectacular artist Rags Morales to help complete a great story arc. The rewriting of the history is good because Grant Morrison knows how to make a successful Superman. The adaptions are made to todays generation of how a Superman would act in todays day and...

    Connect the Dots Here 0

I found myself liking this issue decently enough. In this issue we get our debut of Steel, and a first glimpse of what is obviously Braniac. Most of the story involves Superman having trouble holding out against a mob off robots as well as the possessed John Corben, and Steel makes his big debut in the new 52 by helping Superman in the fight. There was one thing I did not like about this issue and that was with its style of storytelling. Right when Steel makes his debut to fight against the mind...

    Robo-Tastic Action! 0

Grant Morrison is the writer who made me love Superman as a comic book character again with his All-Star Superman title. In his Action Comics run in the New 52 he's really exploring the possibility of a world that doesn't want Superman around. As robotic armies are manufactured as fast as Superman can punch them into pieces, the young Kryptonian finds himself overwhelmed and outgunned for the first time in his life. This feeling of helplessness is very welcome in a Superman title, because even t...

    Action Comics #4 0

Art - The art is better than the previous issues which is kinda strange considering the previous issues were drawn by the same person, but the colorist while generally good the Superman shirt is white for the entire book which is kinda messed up... Where would he find a white S shirt?Story - The story is basically Brainiac has detected Clark and has employed Lex to capture Superman, but Brainiac has decided to go back on his word after using Lex as a pawn. John Henry Irons has created a steel su...

This action comics issue is filled with action!? I'm in shock... 0

Finally this issue hits the stands; I was waiting for this one for a while since steel debuts here, but besides that. This issue is fantastic by itself is filled with the action the title itself promises. The issue starts with Lex luthor being a little girl about the robot aliens attacking as they seem to be produced from the factories in metropolis and John Wayne being controlled by evil aliens who want superman. Steel seeing this from his house, he pulls out a suit of armor from behind his book...

    Bottled Up 0

The Story: Brainiac takes over John Corben and begins searching for Superman who meets the challenge head on and is eventually aided by Steel. My Thoughts:Action Comics lives up to its name here in this issue. This re-imagining of Superman's origins has been a lot of fun as Grant Morrison has taken Superman's character in many unexpected directions that have so far paid off. One of the main themes centers around humanity not wanting Superman. As he's not accepted it's been making his job rather ...

    Man of Steel 0

Back during the old DC Universe, Man of Steel was a dude who was helping fill the Superman void after the Death of Superman. In Grant Morrison's retelling, he's someone who was working on a metal power suit who quit because of Lex Luthor's policies. He then demonstrates why people tend to be escorted out when they quit - he kept one of the suits for himself. This type of thing happens a lot in comics, but it would probably not be allowed to happen in the real world. The issue is mostly him and Su...

    There's Always Something 0

The Good: Rags Morales art continues to be an absolutely perfect match for this series. I can never figure out just what it is, but it's always a perfect fit, carefully chosen panels and smooth overall quality. And the pacing is spectacular. The climax of this arc is a wild knockdown brawl. It's a wealth of action in Action Comics, and it is just awesome. Superman is proving why he's Superman. Fighting his hardest in a bare knuckle brawl with a mighy machine. I can see the Superman I know shinin...

About a Steel Drivin' Man 0

When we last left Clark and his colleges he was about to be attacked by robots with green eyes (review issue #3). This issue starts with him running away from the scene, and leaving the others frightened...but little do they know he is actually going to return as-SUPERMAN!Good:As always it was drawn/written well, and reminded me of the superman i grew up with :) (points below). It also wasn't lacking in action- which is a must for Action Comic! (at least in my mind...)>Superman's attitude whe...
