1 - The Super-Panhandler of Metropolis, Part 1. In an 'imaginary' story set in the 1990s (it's interesting to see how their vision of the super-science of the 1990s differs from what actually happened), Superman has lost most of his powers and is confined to a wheelchair. Perry White is dead and Jimmy Olsen is the head of a large media company. Scientific advances have made Superman's powers largely redundant. Superman has been reduced to begging on the streets in order to buy food for the people who share his home in an abandoned tenement. The conclusion of the story is in Action 397.
2 - The Invaders From Nowhere. Hearing an intruder alarm in his Fortress, Superman rushes in to confront the invaders. He discovers they are ethereal beings that he cannot touch, yet they subdue him with a 'dormite ray' and kidnap him, taking him to their home world. Despite this world having a red sun, Superman finds he has all his powers, yet he is unable to escape from the cage he has been placed in. It turns out that his powers have been drained to restore the energy of the planet, but the planet itself is a microscopic entity within a model of Krypton's solar system within his own Fortress. The aliens had merely reduced him in size in order to tap his energy. However, they drained too much of his energy, causing their tiny world to explode.
