    I was...gutted.

There have been many great Superman writers since Superman was created, but few have understood Superman as much as the John Bryne, Mark Waid, Alan Moore and, of course, Jerry Seigels of the comicbook writing pantheon. Greg Pak, after this issue, inches his way ever closer to joining this legendary list of writers. Action Comics # 29 is great, but so was Action Comics 25-28, what makes AC29 better is that it represents the quintessential essence of Superman. If Superman you're not a fan of the big blue boyscout and you're looking to understand why people love him, look no further than AC29. Greg Pak manages to take the alien powers of Kal-El and the human aspects of Clark Kent to create the perfect Superman. Filled with the humor Pak has come to write Action Comics and the beautiful visuals of Kuder's art, Action Comics could be the best comic the DC releases this month and you might even shed by the end of it all. Just as how Snyder is writing a great Batman and Azzerello is writing legendary Wonder Woman, Pak has made Superman his own. I hope Pak stay on Action for as long as he writes comics.

I really like how Superman gets mad because he shows people to not mess with him. He really shows how powerful he can get and it’s really cool to see all that. What I also like is that we get to see Sup...

The Good: This book looks so beautiful. Kuder does an amazing job really making all of the characters their own characters. And the monsters are so inventively wonderful and feel real coming off the pages. He's really the unsung hero here.Pak is also fantastic. He continues to make Superman stories that are bigger than the smash-fest that the rest of DC (sans Scott Snyder) seem to do. He's got the best Superman-featured Superman book (again, beside Unchained) out there right now. He nails what S...
