    Deep Freeze Review

Greg Pak brings his first story arc to an end with this explosive issue. Caught between the Ghost Soldier and Ukur, Superman must decide what to do when monsters reach the surface.

    The Good

I'm enjoying where Pak is heading the character so far. Superman's friendship with Lana Lang and the constant references to his childhood allows us to relate more to him, giving more emotion to the story.

The action sequences were great and I for once liked that Superman is using his brain instead of just punching things. The Ghost Soldier has proven himself to be an enjoyable character and a difficult opponent.

Aaron Kuder has done a great job in this issue. He has become one of my favorite artists. It's great he will be handling the art in the coming issues.

    The Bad

I didn't find anything wrong with this issue.

    The Verdict

March begins with this awesome issue. The Pak/Kuder partnership is a major bonus for the Superman franchise.

What I also like is that we get to see Sup...

There have been many great Superman writers since Superman was created, but few have understood Superman as much as the John Bryne, Mark Waid, Alan Moore and, of course, Jerry Seigels of the comicbook writing pantheon. Greg Pak, after this issue, inches his way ever closer to joining this legendary list of writers. Action Comics # 29 is great, but so was Action Comics 25-28, what makes AC29 better is that it represents the quintessential essence of Superman. If Superman you're not a fan of t...
