"How Did Superman Get His Super-Powers? What Is His One Vulnerable Spot? You'll Find the Answers in Superman's Personal Album When You Read "The Kid from Krypton".

    1. The Kid From Krypton: (Superman) in the Dily planet new room Clark learns that a meteor is about to destroy the town of Smithville so he changes to Superman and flies to stop it but as soon as he gets close he is rendered helpless and realizes it must be made of Kryptonite.

As he falls we get a retelling of Superman's origin, how he was born on Krypton the son of a scientist named Jor-El and his wife Lara. Jor-El realized their planet was doomed and proposed building a fleet of rockets to save their people but his plan was rejected. as the final chain reaction began he only had one model ship. it was enough to save his wife and son but Lara refuse to leave him so they sent their son crossed space to earth, the last survive of Krypton (for now). he was found and raised by Johnathan and Martha Kent and grew up to be Superman. no weapon could harm superman until they discovered Kryptonite, a radioactive piece a Krypton that renders Superman helpless but doesn't effect humans.

we the return to Smithville where Superman has fallen outside the range of the Kryptonite and quickly throws a boulder at the meteor to deflect it from the town. a criminal who witnessed this realizes the meteor must be Kryptonite and calls his boss (a racketeer named Korrel) about it. while Superman it trying to figure out what to do about the meteor Korrel and his crew show up, load it on a trailer, and drive away. Superman follows but is soon laid low by some Kryptonite dust Korrel had pounded from a fragment of the meteor and by the time he wakes up they are gone.

there was a smaller piece of the rock left in the field so Superman goes to a factory in Smithville that is more than happy to help him after he saved their town and uses their resources to build a pair of robots. he then controls the robots remotely to experiment with the Kryptonite. he finds no way to shield against or destroy it but does develop a K-detector that detects Kryptonite like a Geiger counter detects uranium and flies off to find the meteor, leaving the robots to guard the remaining Kryptonite.

Meanwhile, back in Metropolis Korrel has started breaking pieces off the meteor and selling it to every petty crook in the city. returning to the city as Clark he finds a crime wave of crooks who no longer fear Superman and as Lois asks why Superman doesn't stop it his K-detector starts going off and some crook with Kryptonite in their pockets pass them. Lois sees Clark be affected by it and concludes he must be Superman but is quickly convinced otherwise by a leak in a gas pipe that Clark had made to explain his reaction.

there are so many crooks with Kryptonite now that the K-detector can't find the meteor so Superman returns to the valley where the it had landed and installs K-detectors in the robots. he then marches them to Metropolis, where they start rounding up everyone with Kryptonite in their pockets. a few crooks see what is happening, dump the Kryptonite and speed off to confront the guy who sold it to them. Superman seeing this from his perch on a ledge above follows and finds the meteor but still can't approach it. he flies off to prep and returns with a box on his back. letting Korrel see him he starts digging a hole and the gangsters, thinking they finally have him, roll the meteor into the hole to trap him. the box on Superman's back explodes before the Kryptonite has time to effect him and the rock is hurled back into space. Superman then has the robots put the rest of the Kryptonite they collected into a giant sling with ropes long enough for him to stay out of it's range and he uses that to fling the rest back into space as well.
