Race of planar abominations in the Gold Digger universe

    Short summary describing this team.

No recent wiki edits to this page.

    Origin

Abyssalisks are semi-reptilian, semi-mammalian abominations in the Gold Digger universe which are native to the extra-dimensional planes such as hyperspace, chronospace, and quasi-space. They have long serpent-like bodies with periodic sharp spines, and with 2 clawed arms at the shoulders and dragon-like heads. Adults range from 48-96 feet long, and 24-36 feet tall at the shoulder. They reproduce by laying clutches of eggs. They are of above-average human intelligence and tend to be very cunning. They are both very strong and quite fast for their size. Their tough hides and sharp fangs and claws are comparable to dragons. In addition to their physical weapons, abyssalisks possess "ether vents" at the tips of their shoulder spines. These vents allow them to cast a variety of magic beams, favoring ones which cause intense pain, paralyzation, or petrification. Abyssalisks feed on ether-rich creatures which are found most plentiful and enriching in the extra-dimensional planes, especially quasi-space. The abyssalisks tend to travel in packs (sometimes with a larger "alpha") in such food-rich areas. When food is scarce such as the material planes, they will prey on each other and be more solitary.
