HALLOWEEN READS: '68
A commercial failure, upon it's initial release in 2006 as a one shot called simply "68", '68 would've been a hit if it hadn't been a little too early for the recent zombie revival.
In the original story (called 68 for the number of days left in the protagonist's tour of duty) the story deals with a zombie outbreak in Vietnam during the year 1969. Mark Kidwell has a good handle on military slang of the era, and Nat Jones art is appropriate for the genre, with a heavy emphasis on gore, even if he does resort to the loose eyeball thing a little too often. Really worth mentioning is Jay Fotos coloring which is subdued and often monochromatic - giving Vietnam a Hell-on-Earth look, even when there aren't shambling corpses around.
Worth digging up (heh heh).
