This issue drops some of the heavier concepts it has been working on as of late and focuses instead on the development of the plot.  This involves a large part of Lex trying to manipulate other on the whole idea of selling the supergene to them.  He is confronted by someone claiming to know the truth but when others won't listen John Henry will.  The second part of the story has the out-of-nowhere introduction of a new Super Chief.  This sort of administrative feel to the series made this appear to be a more average issue, but the last story with Doctor Magnus really pulls it through in the end, with more than a little intrigue and some interesting dialogue as well as some decent action.  It is not really clear yet where all the pieces are starting to fall in this 52 piece mystery, but they are at least starting to coalesce now.
