She was genetically engineered and implanted with an activated metagene which gave her powers. Taking on the identity of 4-D, she became a member of the UItramarine Corps.

    Creation

4-D was created by Grant Morrison and Howard Porter. She technically made her first appearance in DC One Million #2, but made her first full appearance in JLA #24.

    Major Story Arcs

    Executive Action

4-D and her team are ordered by Eiling to carry out an attack on the JLA, ostensibly on the orders of the president. She joins them in successfully incapacitating several heroes, herself taking on and defeating Wonder Woman. Despite their success, she objects to their orders and attempts to convince Warmaker One that something doesn't make sense. He convinces her to continue by reminding her that their orders come from the president. She is halted when Superman reveals that she and her team are dying because of Eiling's genetic manipulations, and that Eiling has betrayed them. She joins the team in allying with the JLA to take Eiling down. Following Eiling's defeat, she helps found Superbia and becomes a member of the new International Ultramarine Corps, a global peacekeeping force.

    Classified

4-D encounters several of her teammates following their failed attempt to defuse a terrorist situation involving Gorilla Grodd, and provides them with weapons she had been inventorying at the time of Grodd's attack. When Pulse 8 reveals he has been taken over by a Sheeda spine-rider he riddles her body with tumours, using her as a hostage to convince her teammates to cooperate. She is healed and taken over by a Sheeda spine-rider soon after, and forced to act as a living weapon for Grodd and Neh-Buh-Loh. She is freed when Neh-Buh-Loh flees, and agrees to accompany her team into Qwewq to act as superheroes in the infant universe. Her actions are unknown, but her team successfully implants a flaw in Qwewq.

    Powers and Abilities

4-D has access to dimensional energy and is able to manipulate her body in accordance with that energy. By accessing the second dimension she is able to turn her body paper-thin and resistant to any damage. By accessing the fourth dimension she can make herself superhumanly strong. She is very difficult to catch or confine. As a soldier, she has received extensive training in armed and unarmed combat.
