I had always seen Doctor Fate in shows like Justice League Unlimited and Batman The Brave and the Bold and thought he was interesting the way he was drapped around in mysticism and mystery. I guess thats why I am most disapointed with this comic it trades the mysticsm with texting. I will make this short and simple, this book is one of the best things to come out of DC in a while. Its an origin story so it falls prey to many of the classic origin story tropes but that doesn't negate the fact that it is a fun book. The art is weird, a little off-bit but it fits the narrative. The characters are fantastic and the story is engaging and I can't wait to see where it goes. Definitely worth picking up the next time you're at a comic book store....
