    Before he received his godlike powers, Captain Atom was a military man – an Air Force pilot. Now, he's being recruited again to serve his country as only he can. But will Captain Atom go along with his new role as a weapon of mass destruction?

    Captain Atom remembers his past while visiting Winslow Air Force Base. The The United States Air Force however looks to quarantine Captain Atom until the can figure out how to control him. Meanwhile a monster continues to grow in power, as it controls a restaurant and attacks a family of four.

    In comparison to the other issues thus far in this series, a lot less is going on here action wise, but the level of character development and portrayal still makes this an excellent addition to this series.  The series was a little slow to start but seems to be hitting on most counts now.  Captain Atom returns to his old base, partially under orders, but also partially because he wants to reconnect with his past.  He finds the environment not particularly conducive to his goal of figuring out w...

    The central theme of this story seems to be the notion of trying to somehow preserve ones humanity no matter how disconnected one becomes, and J.T. Krul pulls it off rather well. In this issue, he deals mostly with how the people around Captain Atom see him as something to be used and exploited, rather than a person, which is a counterpoint to how he was seen alternatively a savior and as a risk in previous issues.     The Good: This issue has a great cover, almost as good as the previous one. It may not be well laid out, but it looks so damn good it's hard to ignore. It's always great to see 'Artgem' Lau really stretch his artistic muscles. The way the flames weave so smoothly around the image is beautiful.I'm okay with the way Freddie Williams II draws everything BUT Captain Atom himself. The backgrounds and civilians all look great, but Atom himself looks too.... crayon-y. Same goes for whatever rat thing i...
