    Dominic struggles to grasp the finer points of modern warfare as his father faces his own struggle against time.   The Good This cover is absolutely amazing!!! The way it mirrors the artwork of a Myan temple's interior inscriptions is extremely fitting.  I like the interaction between Val and Dom in this issue. I got a sense of these two truly being childhood friends that are as close as brothers. Their moment towards the end of the issue really has some interesting dialog.  Hickman/Pitarra/Rose...

    Top Gun meets time travel... 0

    In "Red Wing" writer Jonathan Hickman has combined Top Gun with time travel and the result has been a fun and interesting mini-series with a lot of promise. The first issue introduced us to the characters and ended with a neat little twist. In this, the second issue, Dom and Val continue their training to become pilots while Dom's father, presumed dead, makes contact with a native tribe while stranded in the past.   On the one hand, Hickman's story feels familiar, like something we've seen befo...

    Loops, Cycles, and Revolutions 0

    Ouroboros - "he who eats the tail"It comes back to the Ouroboros time and time again. I said in the first issue how apt the description was when you look at time as a closed loop. Hickman, who specializes in stories about fathers and sons, dives deep into root causes and prime actions. I can see the vision he's presenting before us with The Red Wing so far. I'm predicting that the book ends how it begins as we loop around in time once again.That was needlessly complex and confusing, but it's har...
