After the devastating fallout of last issue's fatal battle for this dimension, the New Avengers have to figure out who really belongs on the team. Plus, Luke Cage and Jessica Jones need a nanny, and not just any nanny, they need to find a superpowered nanny. Who. Will. It. Be? Plus, another illustrated chapter of the oral history of the Avengers!
The day after the attacks, Damage Control cleans up everything. Luke Cage wants to pay for it himself but refrains from it unwillingly after hearing the cost of the damages.
Doctor Strange wakes up and comes down to a room full of Avengers. They invite him to join the team. He refuses at first, feeling guilty and responsible for the recent incidents, but eventually the others convince him. When they want to discuss who else will be on the team, Spider-Man wants to know who Victoria Hand is. When she tells him, he doesn't want her in the room anymore and threatens to leave, but after a discussion, he gives in.
Next, a discussion starts concerning payment of the Avengers. Luke does not want to be paid by Steve Rogers because he thinks that they are not independent anymore. Jessica convinces him otherwise, mainly because they need the money. Spider-Man doesn't get any money because he still has a secret identity.
Jessica and Luke really want a nanny to take care of their baby, but one with powers. Wolverine offers. They interview a couple of applicants and choose Doreen, a woman with a squirrel tail. When Wolverine sees her, they have an awkward exchange, showing that they have history.
Wong appears and Doctor Strange is happy to see him. Wong seems less enthralled at staying in another mansion and working in the kitchen. Victoria Hand claims that the Avengers are all crazy.
