    Overview

Grand. Operatic. Powerful. Matt Wagner's Grendel, a mainstay in the comics arena for decades, has always been a touchstone of eclecticism and excitement. Unfortunately, many of the original stories have been long out of print and are conspicuously absent from the back-issue bins; therefore, in response to readers' demands, Matt Wagner has compiled this Grendel history book. Grendel Cycle begins with an all-new, eight-page primer, written and fully painted by Matt Wagner (Grendel: Devil Quest, Sandman Mystery Theatre), giving new readers a lavish introduction to the Grendel mythos, while refreshing the memories of those who have been there all along. This is followed by an extensive overview of the lost stories and the Grendel concept itself that combines text and new artwork by the original series artists -- Wagner, Arnold Pander (Triple*X), Bernie Mireault (The Jam), Ron Turner, John K. Snyder III (Harlan Ellison's Dream Corridor), Jay Geldhof, Tim Sale (Batman Halloween Special, Deathblow), and Pat McEown (Grendel Tales: Homecoming) -- all returning for the first time to the characters that made them "hot." Special features include a timeline of events and a cover gallery showcasing the cover artwork from the first 50 issues. This book is a must for every Grendel fan. Don't be the last on your block to get the full story.
