Immortality can be a curse - at least if you're three thousand years old and you've got the gods on your back. When Lucifer refuses the gift of death to a beautiful but ancient priestess, he forces her to look elsewhere ? and triggers a sequence of events which may earn him the ultimate bargaining chip, in this self-contained story which acts as a prelude to the third major storyline of the series.

A young woman, well, youthful woman who wakes up everyday in the same condition she was the day before. She was cursed by her gods thousands of years ago for her crimes and now every morning must relive a miscarriage that leaves a psychological scar on her. She decides she must finally escape it all and seeks out the Void and the help of Lucifer but he turns her away. She goes in search of other things, of pleading with her gods but they do not listen and are destroyed, leaving her with very little hope of ever escaping her struggles, but than Lucifer comes to her...willing to make a deal.
