A small time drug dealer hustles in order to take his wife and daughter out of a bad neighborhood but when he steps on the toes of a local gang leader he realizes that the life of his family is in danger. And the only refuge he might find is through a fairy tale… Jack’s family is starving and he does the only thing he knows in order to solve the problem, he sells their last cow for… magic beans!? But when the beans in fact prove to be enchanted, Jack finds more treasure than he would ever need. Has his luck changed for the best or will his newfound greed prove to be fatal?
The story of Jack and the Beanstalk is told in reference to a small time drug dealer who sees dealing drugs as his only way out of poverty and to provide a meaningful future for his family. When he goes to make his pickup, he instead finds Sela waiting there and instead of drugs she has something more powerful for him - her book. He reads a version of Jack and the Beanstalk where he purchases beans from his neighbour and then a magical beanstalk grows to a castle above the clouds. When he gets there he finds an angry and hungry giant, but also a great deal of riches which he begins to habitually steal. On his final journey of thievery the giant chases and falls crushing Jack's house and family below. The action shifts back to the modern day and shows the drug dealer running home to his family.
