Grimm Fairy Tales » Grimm Fairy Tales #6 - The Robber Bridegroom released by Zenescope Entertainment on May 2006.

    Short summary describing this issue.

No recent wiki edits to this page.

Two beautiful sisters compete for the attention of the hottest guy at school. When he chooses one over the other a nasty fight erupts between the two siblings, threatening to shatter their sisterly bond. A trip to the world of Grimm Fairy Tales teaches them that blood is literally thicker than water.

Set against the modern bickering of two sisters over a boy that they both like, Sela arrives to tell the story of the Robber Bridegroom. This story deviates somewhat from the original fairy tale as there are two sisters involved in this story and they both meet and fall in love with a handsome prince. While one of the girls is to marry the prince, the other plots against her which leads to her death and the other sister replaces her as the prince's wife. As with the original fairy tale, the new princess does not realize the darker side of her new husband and she does not survive their first night together. In the modern day the sisters realize family is more important than the attention of the boy they both liked.

As is the case with this series, a fairy tale is told against the backdrop of modern times.  In this case two girls are having troubles over the same boy and Sela arrives to tell them the story of the Robber Bridegroom.  Of the stories thus far, this is the furthest from the original tale, as two daughters are involved and as the ending is somewhat darker.  The overall message is strong - to be true to those who really love you as opposed to a passing fancy - but it suffers not in itself but of ...
