While departing to his usual training at the Initiative, Gauntlet gets assaulted from behind. He survives but ends up in the hospital. The suspects are the New Warriors and the former Warriors currently training at the base end up in jail for questioning. When he wakes up Gauntlet reveals he thinks he got assaulted by the villain known as the Ghost and the former Warriors are released from charges, none of them realizing the actual culprit was Slapstick because he couldn't stand Gauntlet bashing on his deceased friends all the time. Ultragirl and Justice are revealed to have a secret relationship.
