    Short summary describing this issue.

Gator Bait last edited by trickled on 09/02/22 05:07PM View full history

In this gothic tale of horror and honor illustrated by artist Phil Noto (DANGER GIRL, Beautiful Killer), Jonah Hex finds himself at odds with the most ruthless, inbred family of killers he's ever come across. Deep in the Louisiana swamplands, two men and a pregnant woman end up in the wrong place at the wrong time - and it's up to Jonah Hex to set things straight!

Jonah comes across a dying man in Louisiana who begs him to take revenge on the swamp folk who stabbed him, killed his friend, baby and most likely his wife. Can Jonah do his magic outside his element or will the swamps of Louisiana be the end of Jonah Hex?

Stop me if you heard this one, "Jonah hex walks out of a bar" okay, that is a bad attempt at humor, but it does begin the issue. A terminally injured black man grabs Hex as he is exiting a bar. The man tells Hex that a family in the swamp killed him, but are still holding his family.  You know, I actually dropped this title at issue twelve or thirteen. Rereading them so I can review them here, I was beginning to wonder why. After reading this issue, I wonder no longer. The art is barely passable...
