As Carnage continues to grow in size (and power), Venom pulls an ace out of his sleeve. The entire symbiote race ends with this jaw-dropping conclusion!
Planet of the Symbiotes concludes, As Carnage continues to grow larger by absorbing symbiotes, Spider-Man, Venom, and Scarlet Spider regroup and plot a plan of attack. Venom suggests since the sorrow the Venom symbiote expressed when Eddie rejected it drew the symbiotes to Earth in the first place, perhaps recreating that pain would render the symbiotes unconcious, Spider-Man and Scarlet Spider agree to hold off the now 40 foot tall Carnage while Venom executes his plan. As Eddie and the symbiote tap into their most negative and depressing thoughts, Spidey and Scarlet Spider battle the massive Carnage in the streets of New York. Ultimately Carnage is caught in a gas tanker explosion and Venom's self induced psychic agony doesnt make the invading symbiotes slip into unconciousness, but rather kill themselves, which was Venom's true plan all along. Though Spider-Man and Scarlet Spider confronted Eddie after the mass symbiote suicide, they didnt pursue the fight when Venom pointed out that there was no other way to stop the symbiote invasion.
